Unnatural
Bonds
She
wasn't certain how he did it so quickly, but no sooner than his
tongue left her body, he was naked, his body pressed fully
against her. As he
settled into the valley of her thighs, she parted them,
welcoming him. If
felt right, almost as if he were fated to be there.
Clasping his shoulders, she curled her fingernails
against his skin, leaving tiny crescent marks.
A shudder rippled through him.
'Again,' he whispered in her mind.
Shifting her hands down, she raked her nails against his
back, watching as he undulated against her.
Without it a doubt, it was the most seductive sensation
in the world. She
was so helpless against his strength, but with the merest of
touches, she had him in the palm of her hand.
Raking her nails again, she was rewarded by a deep growl.
His head lifted, and his gaze locked on hers.
His eyes had gone molten.
"I
do not wish to hurt you," he rasped, his voice tight with
need.
In response Kali wiggled beneath him, until she
could wrap her legs around his waist.
Tightening them, she coaxed him to rest his cock against
her entrance.
'Then
don't leave me,'
she answered, trying to convey with her thought that it wasn't
just her body that would be left bereft.
Riordan's lips slammed down against her, bruising her
mouth with his passion. Parting
her own lips, Kali swept her tongue past to mate with his,
claiming the role of aggressor for once in their mating.
He held still, almost frozen above her.
Reaching between them, she wrapped her fingers around his
cock and guided him past her pussy lips.
As the first inch slipped in, she tried to relax.
Her body was demanding more, but she knew if they rushed,
pain would follow. Going
slowly, she arched up against him, coaxing his cock in another
inch.
Slickness increased as her body welcomed him.
Tightening her legs, she rubbed her tongue against his as
she sent one word through their mental link.
'More.'
He responded with a passion that made her see stars.
It was as if her demand had unleashed him from whatever
held him immobile. One
hard thrust, and they were fully joined.
Kali gasped into his mouth as the bond doubled in
strength. She could
hear her heart beating through his ears.
If she closed her eyes, she knew she would see herself,
laying there beneath him.
'Mine,' he answered, an almost
primitive instinct guiding him.
She broke the kiss and burrowed her face into his neck,
nodding against his sweat slick skin.

Laws
of Nature
It
took Shay a moment to register it wasn't Bobby in the doorway,
but her neighbor Garrett.
"Shay?"
Nervously he pushed his glasses up his nose and stepped
towards her, his observant gaze not missing the handcuffs that
shackled her wrists.
"Get
out, and close the door behind you Garrett."
"What
happened, Shay?" As
he spoke he stepped into the room and closed the door behind
him, flicking the lock.
"Bobby,"
she spit out, the word tasting foul on her mouth.
Jerking in agitation, she hissed as the silver rubbed her
already sore wrists.
Fire
flared within Garrett's normally calm brown eyes.
His boyish features tightened in anger, and for the first
time in the two years she had known him, a curious awakening
stirred within her. Gone
was the boy next door, and in his place stood a man.
As he stepped toward her and wrapped his hands around her
wrists, a rush of desire moved over her.
"Let's
get you out of these things."
There was a gleam in his eyes that she had often seen in
her brother's gazes when they looked at women.
He was pissed, and about to go alpha male on Bobby's ass.
It only excited her further.
Swallowing
the words that begged to be expelled, she cursed her hormones
and the urge to mate that called.
Garrett had always been safe--the sweet computer geek who
lived next door. She
should have known there was more to him.
Unable
to speak, Shay nodded her consent, holding back the whimpers
that formed as he twisted her wrists to get a better view.
"Silver?"
"Yeah.
I'm allergic to it."
"I
remember."
Almost
absently she nodded. Trust
Garrett to remember everything, including the time he had
purchased a silver necklace for her birthday and had to return
it for a gold one.
As
Garrett leaned down to grip the paperclip and begin working it
in the lock, his hair brushed against her chin.
Shay breathed in, the deep woodsy scent of his aftershave
swirled within her nose, further arousing her.
"I've
almost got it, Shay. Just a second longer. . . there, got
it." As the
cuffs dropped free, his hands gently rubbed her wrists, soothing
her abraded flesh.
"Thanks,"
she whispered, her throat tight.
Her mind was still functioning, but her body was
demanding control. The
urge to jump him was building the longer she was near him.
"No
problem, Shay. Now
we need to call the cops and have him arrested.
After I find him and beat the--" His words dropped
off as he lifted his head, his gaze locking on hers.
Looking into his deep brown eyes, Shay found herself
drowning in need. Unable
to resist, she tipped her head forward, brushing her lips over
his.

"a
nice collection of four quick, saucy stories"
Doctor
Nelson is a scientist experimenting on shifters and vampires.
He wants to find out their secrets and already has a vampire in
his lab. The two races must pull together and stop him
before it is too late. In four stories about the fight
between the evil Doctor and the paranormal, four couples find
love and passion beyond anything they could have ever imagined.
Unnatural
Bonds starts things off with the reader getting a good
look at the nasty piece of work known as Doctor Nelson.
Kali has been working undercover for 6 months to find the
missing vampire and she has to play along with the Doctor if she
wants any chance of freeing him. Laws of Nature
moves on to the shifters. The silver cuffs on Shay are
hurting her but Bobby is going to hurt more when she gets free.
He wants to give her to a lab to be experimented on and she
doesn't want that to happen. Her geeky neighbor Garrett
comes along at the right moment. She is free and in heat
but Garrett doesn't mind because he has been after Shay for two
years.
Then
in Bound in Blood we meet Anya, a vampire who gets
involved with Shay's brother Ruben to fight against the threat
to their people. With the information that Kali and
Riordan have given the council it is only a matter of time
before things can go back to normal. Lastly in Nature
of the Beast the council member Kathryn needs protecting
and Shay and Ruben's older brother and future Alpha doesn't mind
taking on the job.
Four
different stories but all of them are connected. In
reality the author could have just written one story about the
situation and given all the characters roles. In saying
that the passion of the couples in each story would not have
been as well captured if bunched together. Separately they
all get their own limelight and of course they all get their
amazing love scenes.
Hot
paranormal romance and a good storyline to boot. This is a
nice collection of four quick saucy stories that will please a
lot of appetites.

"Ms. Houston
wrote a great short story. I would love for this to have
been in a longer format, but it isn't so I will deal with it.
She had me hooked from the first word and it ended too soon for
me. It was just a teaser. An enjoyable one at that."
~ Review
by Robin Smith for My Book Cravings
"Laws
of Nature by Michelle Houston provided a strikingly 'normal'
setting for the paranormal premise of her story. In a way, the
love story she pens makes it even more credible and appealing." ~
Zee for Enchanting Reviews
"Laws of Nature
is fantastic, animalistic and a very fun romp, Ms. Houston is a
definite read for shape shifter lovers!" ~ Stephanie Q. McGrath for Paranormal Romance Reviews
"Laws
of Nature
is a wonderful story by Michelle
Houston. The characters are well
developed and come together with the plot to create a
short story that reads more like a full length novel. I
loved the passion in the story and hope to see more of
these characters in the future." ~ Tara Renee for Two Lips Reviews
